JBS Net Zero 2040

As the world’s leading food company, JBS wants to be part of the solution by becoming Net Zero by 2040 and promote the transformation of the agribusiness markets and to make them more productive, more sustainable and part of the climate solution.

We need to act urgently to interrupt the accumulation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the atmosphere, thereby limiting the increase in the temperature of the planet by 2050 to a maximum of 2°C, with efforts to restrict it to 1.5°C in comparison with pre-industrial levels.

Reducing emissions is the first objective, through energy efficiency projects, an energy matrix based on renewable energy, the circular economy, among others.

Actions for removing GHG from the atmosphere are the means to balancing the impact of the emissions that an organization’s activities produce. This can be achieved by recovering degraded areas, planting forests, crop-livestock farming-forest integration, increasing carbon inventories in the ground, regenerative agriculture, etc.
