What we are already doing

We began our efforts more than a decade ago with significant investments in tangible environmental actions across our entire value chain.

Supply Chain

JBS already monitors its suppliers and now has expanded monitoring to suppliers' suppliers as well.

Since 2009, the JBS Monitoring System has daily evaluated nearly 85,000 farms that supply cattle in Brazil to prevent illegal deforestation, use of slave labor, invasion of indigenous lands, quilombola settlements or environmental conservation units, among other socio-environmental criteria of the Company.
Monitoring is georeferenced by satellite images to cover an area of 850,000 km²- an area equivalent to 2.5 x the size of Germany.

Transparent Livestock Platform

Expansion of monitoring to suppliers of JBS suppliers, via blockchain technology. The technology brings unprecedented advances to the socio-environmental monitoring of the Amazon Biome and other Brazilian biomes.

Innovation and Sustainability

Kind Leather

A sustainable leather brand that tackles key sustainability initiatives, like the 90% reduction in solid waste generated, savings of 62% in the consumption of energy and 52% in water in Brazil.

Green Flooring

Developed by the R&D area of JBS Ambiental, which recycles plastic generated as a waste from our facilities, converting it into material for the civil construction sector. Shavings of multilayer packaging (PVDC), the plastic used in vacuum-sealed raw products, and which is difficult to recycle, are used to manufacture interlocking floor panels ideal for use in external environments such as patio surfacing.
